Deonne Devonish is a director with Sofer® Advisors, LLC focusing on business advisory services related to litigation assistance, estate and tax planning, as well as valuations for financial reporting purposes.

Deonne has over 10 years of experience providing business valuations across a range of industries including financial services, business and professional services, manufacturing, wholesale and distribution, healthcare, and telecommunications. She assists clients with corporate and strategic planning, M&A advisory, valuations of intangible assets (including, brand/trade names, customer relationships, technology), financial modeling and consulting. Deonne has advised clients located in the U.S., Canada, Europe and the Caribbean.

As an internationally trained valuations professional, Deonne has extensive experience providing valuations for financial reporting purposes under US GAAP, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Specifically:

  • Impairments: ASC 350-20, 360; IAS 36
  • Purchase price allocations: ASC 805; IFRS 3
  • Fair value: ASC 820; IFRS 13
  • Valuation of privately held businesses for corporate and tax planning purposes.
  • Valuation of various business interests for mergers, acquisitions, dispositions and corporate restructurings.
  • Valuation engagements in accordance with IFRS 3 – Business Combinations, relating to the recognition and measurement of identified intangible assets such as trade names, customer relationships, technology, non-compete agreements, etc.
  • Valuation engagements in accordance with IAS 36 relating to goodwill and asset impairment testing.
